1 Corinthians 15:51-52 Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed— in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.

Going Home Amen. Come, Lord Jesus!

Revelation 22:20 20 He who testifies to these things says, “Yes, I am coming soon.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.

IMathētēs - Disciples

The disciples of Jesus were imitators of their Master

To be a disciple of Jesus, one must imitate Jesus. Everything that Jesus did when He was on Earth was either seeking and saving the lost or serving others. Jesus further asked His disciples to go and make more disciples that would be imitators of Him.

What Does it Mean to be a Disciple?

What did the word disciple mean to the First Century Church?  A disciple was an imitator of the Master, not just a mere student.  When Jesus commanded His disciples to go and make more disciples, He was telling them to make imitators of Him.  Everything that Jesus did when He was on Earth was to Seek and Save the Lost and to Serve Others.  The Bible is about one topic, eschatology which is simply restoration of what was lost.  God’s original intent for humanity was to dwell in His presence as it was in The Garden of Eden.  The Bible is the story of God’s fulfilled promises and yet to be fulfilled promises that ultimately, through Jesus, provide the opportunity for humanity to reconcile with God.  God sent His Son Jesus to pay the price for our sins.  The moment that we repent of our sins, accept that Jesus paid the price for our sins and make Him the Lord of our life, we are returned into right standing with God.  God’s original intent is His final intent, creation restored and humanity dwelling in His presence.

Accept Him today and you can be assured that when God looks at you, He looks at you through the lens of Jesus.  What are you waiting for?

Heavenly Father,

Thank you for sending your Son Jesus to die for me.  Please forgive me for all the times that I have messed up and I make Jesus the Lord of my life.

Amen

The Bible says that when a person comes to Jesus, there is a party in Heaven.  If you prayed that prayer, we are celebrating with you!  If there is anything we can do to help you on your journey with Jesus, please reach out to us.
